About Amiya:

Amiya Kumar began dancing as a little girl by watching and copying her mother and older sister before beginning her formal training at Upahaar School of Dance under her mother Acharya Smt Shalini Shivashankar in 2013 from the age of four. She has trained regularly in the Sutton branch through her early years. Determined to build her skills artistically and professionally, Amiya intensified her training in a hybrid format through solo and group classes for the last three years. Simultaneously she also started training to assist in class with junior groups. She is currently preparing for her Grade 6 and Intermediate exams in Bharatanatyam in the ISTD board.
